Editorial policy
Modern Style Review aims to make fashion and clothing easier to understand. We separate explanation from opinion, check statements against suitable sources and make uncertainty visible rather than smoothing it away.
Accuracy and clarity
We check factual claims against relevant sources and review names, dates and technical terms before publication. We explain distinctions in plain language and do not present a general observation as a rule that applies to every garment or wearer. When a point is uncertain or depends on context, we say so.
Independence and interests
Editorial choices are made for their relevance to readers, not because a brand or partner requests coverage. If a commercial relationship could affect how material is understood, we make that relationship clear alongside the material. Partner involvement does not guarantee favourable coverage.
Corrections
If you spot a factual error or an unclear statement, contact us with the article title and the passage in question. We review correction requests and update material when warranted, making substantive changes clear to readers.
Images and illustrations
Images are selected to support the subject and should not be mistaken for proof of a garment's exact materials or construction. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; when that is the case, we label them as such.
Look closer; choose with intention
Clothing is easier to understand when its details are visible. We make room for questions about how garments work and what they communicate.
